Default Bye Bye Taverna Red !

I read on The Gourmet Club's facebook page HERE that a new restaurant is coming to Summerfield replacing Taverna Red.

And I thought they were doing pretty good.

No big loss, in my opinion. Too loud and management didn't seem to care. Food was OK, but nothing special. I had high hopes when they first opened. Will definitely look forward to a new venue there!

Oh no. Where will I go to hear country music sung off key with pre-recorded backing tracks?

I loved the food at Isabelles and was sorry to see them go, but we also enjoyed many really good meals, great service and always attentive management at Taverna Red. Sad to see them now go also. We will hope to finally have a good authentic Italian Restaurant to go to, time will tell. Seems they are opening a little close to Little Joeys.

Before Taverna Red closed for renovations, the owner told me that he was opening the new place with a new business partner, and changes in the menu

A few of the servers from Taverna are now at Pasta Faire until the new place opens. Our waitress on the last visit at Pasta are excited about remodeling and the new chefs et al. I hope that bodes well when the help are excited about a new place. My only request is that they keep the creamy garlic dressing for salads.

From what I understand it is the same owner with a new partner... looking to change the culture that Taverna Red got stuck in with the Karaoke, trivia, etc... Hard to make money when you're not turning tables.

The sign is up anyone know when they're opening? Little Joeys can't be happy about this They've been a consistent good old standby for decent pizza and Italian food. Very nice people there too.
