Default About ***

I had an interesting experience a couple of days ago. I tried to use the word anecdo-tal (without the dash.)

The word came out anec***al.

Like most message boards, this one apparently has a filter to censor unacceptable words, usually the common "four letter words."

I have yet to figure out what unacceptable word includes the three letters d, o and t in succession.

In the meantime I probably won't be using anec***al much.

I have recently noticed that and could not figure out why signing on the ***ted line would be offensive.

The system won't take a "***" in a word. Hmmmm..... that's interesting.

The same goes for a certain sequence of numbers, as the admin informed me.

The system just doen't like some things. OH WELL!!!

A small price to pay for this wondeful site.

"***" may be filtered to prevent people from spelling out (in words) an email or internet address

I think they have a policy about posting certain internet site links, so sometimes people will add a space between every other letter or spell it out, such as google d o t com

p.s. When I saw the title of the thread, "About ***", I have to admit I didn't think it was about d o t

It's to prevent members from posting messages in "Morse" code.

Guess you just have to start calling your friend "Periodti" instead of D o t t i. That's pronounced Perri-ottie! Or... just simply call her... your friend, End Of Sentence!"

I know, I know... go ahead and say it...
