Default Who can make a harvest trestle table?

I have enclosed my lanai to make an awesome dining room and I would like a wood trestle table made - since buying one through normal channels is not in the budget. I was hoping to find someone locally who does this kind of woodworking. Does anyone know of anyone nearby who might be able to make one for me?

You could try The Villages Wood Shop. I know that people there will fix furniture, etc. and only charge for the materials. They will also accept donations beyond that.

Do you know about Victoria's Antiques in downtown Leesburg? They make trestle tables in the wood shop behind the store. One of our friends just had one built there and it is beautiful. Don't know anything about Victoria's pricing, however.

If you're going to Leesburg, give me a shout. Hey, if you go down 441 you'll pass Neerlee New in Fruitland Park...it's on the right. A warehouse looking thing with Blue lettering. It's the best used furniture around. AND downtown there's Frugals, really neat consignment place...and an antique store near there.

I would look into the wood club as Judith Ann suggested. They have a group of folks there that do nothing but custom special projects. And as she said, you give them your idea and just pay for materials and possibly a donation if you think it fit. They will build to your specs. Trestle tables are a pretty easy build so there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Thanks so much, Carla

I went to Victoria's - sorry, Kitty I didn't get your post in time - and I found and bought an antique trestle table made of barn boards, that is awesome and way over what I could afford. But she took $300 off the price, so I have to say, the owner, Vicki is super. She has the most amazing pieces there and she also will build custom pieces.

I'm so happy that Victoria's worked out for you, Katie. The table our friends got from there was made to order, for their lanai. It's long and narrow, and just gorgeous, as I'm sure yours is too.
