Default sprinkler advice

Question: We have a lot of customers asking us "when can I turn my sprinklers back to two or three times a week, for the spring."

The answer: you shouldn't have too. The Villages started installing Hunter sprinkler timers about 4-5 years ago that automatically adjust your run times per season, so you don't need too. Unless, you have made modifications to bypass the seasonal adjustment aka the blue wire in the back of the box.

Hope this helps everyone

Is the Villages exempt from the water district rules? I think Marion county is one day per week now and will go to two days in the summer..

I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about, as the Hunter systems need to be set with how many days per week the system should run. If the homeowner reduced their irrigation from lets say, 2x per week to once per week, they will need to reset to twice per week, if that's how many times they wish to water.
The seasonal adjustment regulates how long the system will run for and is controlled by the sensor on the outside of the garage. Not only rain affects the sensor but so does, sunlight, temperatures, etc... They are like little weather stations.

You are also correct, if a homeowner has changed their timing and number of watering days, they need to be adjusted. But as you stated before, it's unnecessary to be adjusted, because the boxes adjust themselves due to rain, sunlight, temperature and ect...
