Default What to do with a 2-year old granddaughter?

My wife and I are new to TV and have a visiting 2-year old granddaughter. Where are fun places to go and do inside and outside of TV. Uncle Donalds Farm is around the corner and will be on the agenda list. Any other ideas? Someone mentioned petting/swimming with a dolphin somewhere nearby. Anybody else know about it?

We just took our 2 yr, 9 mo grandson to Homasassa State wildlife park which is a boat ride taking you to a zoo-like area. He loved it. It was very reasonably priced and they also give an AAA discount. It's about an hour from TV.

Put Gatorland on your list. It is a very impressive reserve. More gators in different settings than one can imagine. There are other than gator exhibits, demonstrations and shows.
Our grand kids loved it.

At 2, the golf cart and a swimming pool seem to work the best. At least it did for my grandson. At 5, he still loves the golf cart and I can entertain him in it for hours at a time.

There is a small park, for kids, with a pirate ship and slides in Lake Sumter Landing across from sonny's barbecue. Great place to take little ones on a nice afternoon.

We took ours to the family pool. Next day we went on a golf cart ride and stopped for a picnic under the trees, then for a walk on the cart path where they could run and touch. They had a blast. Now they love to come to TV. Last time we bought one of those plastic wading pools for our yard, huge hit, then we sent it home with them. No muss, no fuss. They are now happily VIT (Villages-in-Training).

Showcaae of Citrus is a fun place for the kids. They can pick fruit, run around & take a swamp buggy ride. Things to Do (if I did it right, that should be their website)
They have a Mermaid show at Weeki Wachee Springs WeekiWachee.com - Home (I haven't been there yet, but it sounds cute)
You can also take a golf cart ride over the bridge to the historical side and back. (it's like a rollercoaster ride for a 2 year old)

another vote for homosassas!!! take the boat ride over after you park and take the shuttle back...you will want it after all the walking around...unless you really want to ride the river again

A plastic pool or two are great. One filled with water and one with sand...which is VERY available as are things from your kitchen drawers, sieves and plastic tools and bowls etc.. An old plastic tablecloth and fingerpaints in the same area. You can dunk the child and clean her off before she returns to clean area. Memories are made with reading simple books and coloring books and crayons, closely supervised. Dressing up and supervised make up is fun too, and your shoes and jewelry can make her look like a princess. You are both in for SO MUCH FUN. Our two grands are 24 and 21 and that whole time went by in about two months as we look back.

Just took my two grand-daughters ages 7 and 5 to Uncle Donald`s Farm last week .
They had a blast and so did I . They had never been to a farm and were just amazed .
I will never forget the joyful happy smiles and giggles as they got to feed a bottle to a baby goat and feed hay to several cows during the hay wagon ride .
Close by and very low cost and easy access to everything . Also a large variety of farm animals to feed . Great photo ops . A two hour visit will cover everything which should be perfect for a 2 year old . Have Fun !

There is a story hour at the new library next to the govt center. I just can't remember the day, but you call and find out. They usually sing a few songs, read a book and do a craft. My little grandkids love it

Take her to one of the ponds and feed the birds and ducks.
