Scammers have stooped to new lows.

I just got this email and on researching it - it is a real funeral home but the email was NOT sent by them.

Do not click on the link if you get it.

Yup . . . Just another "click here" scam. I received a similar one a couple of weeks ago. Yes, the scammers have stooped to a new low but I don't think they have reach the bottom yet. There's plenty more where this came from. We all just have to be aware and click . . . delete, that is!

I also received the funeral home notice of the death of my 'beloved friend'
Fortunately I didn't click the link inside the email.

Its horrible how low they are getting.

I don't EVER open up a link in an email which really annoys many of my friends because they say I'm missing funny jokes but I don't care.... I haven't had a virus in years and I swear its because I've disciplined myself to avoid any links from anyone! Sorry, girlfriends, but this is how I do it.

BTW - I think scammers are already at the bottom of the pit, for the depraved way thay have, of faking things.

2B, the email appears to come from a REAL funeral home. I agree with you about scammers being at the bottom of the pit, and this is email is terrible!

Thanks for the tip but I tend to disregard all notices about funerals, cremations, etc, as I am nowhere near ready, for this kind of morbidity.

Unfortunately, they are hoping the vunerable people, will fall for their scheme.

Shame on them!!!!

There's an old expression that says something about these kinds of PITA's, but all I'm going to say is that "the bottom of the ocean" is implied in that expression!

All, This was reported in AARP, about 1-2 weeks ago, just 2 days ago, I got one. Fortunately I had been warned. The scammers are actually copying legit funeral home websites, and using that fake info in their e-mails.
Also, NOTE, these are popping up on phones, just had a friend that clicked the link on her phone. Not sure if the malware installed, she is still checking.

This scam e-mail has also been sent to people in the Chicago area. Too bad these scammers don't try to think of productive, legal ways to use their brainpower instead of trying to separate honest people from their money.
