Default Bok Tower

We're thinking of taking a few days and driving down to Bok Tower in Lake Wales. Anyone have any hotel and/or restaurant recommendations? Also, what other sights along the way or in the area would be enjoyable? Thanks!

You might try Chalet Suzanne. It's near, a little high end, with a great restaurant. At least it was when I stayed there about 15 yrs ago. It was a Fl icon and a great spot for honeymooners or weekend retreats. Good luck. Btw I heard they are remodeling the park around Bok tower. I'd check before going.

You might want to try The Cherry Pocket in Lake Wales. The food is fabulous and the restaurant is on the lake. I had their stuffed grouper and it was the best I'd ever had. Its a little dive of a place and be forewarned its a tad on the rustic side. If you get there around 5pm be prepared to wait for a table as the place is always packed at dinner.

Here is a link to the menu.

We've decided to stay in Winter Haven, so we would be close to Bok Tower and Lakeland. Any MUST see's in Winter Haven or Lakeland? Thanks!

Default Check this out

Lake ales is the home of Spook Hill where your car will roll uphill. There is an elementary school near the hill that has Casper the Friendly Ghost as its mascot.

Update, spent the weekend in Winter Haven at Holiday Inn, which was a nice central location for us.
Took in a Tigers game at Lakeland on Sat. and then today we went to Bok Tower Gardens. VERY beautiful and serene.....just what we needed! Flowers are in full bloom!
