Default Illegal U-Turn

I noticed that Lady Lake PD is ticketing a lot of folks who make an illegal U-turn at Rolling Acres Rd at the Target exit. I see a lot of these listed in the Villages News. Does anyone know exactly where this is? I can't seem to picture where it is.

I got a warning ticket there about a year ago.

When you come out of the Target center there is a dividing strip in front of you for a few yards. Most people unfamiliar with the place would just pull to the right a little and go around the median strip.

The sign is at the end of the strip and is plainly visible going south on Rolling Acres. My problem was I was looking at the traffic to my left as I pulled out and didn't see the sign. MY DW saw both the sign and the cop sitting at driveway on the other side but didn't tell me.

I think it is confusing to people coming out of Target, but then that whole intersection area is very poorly designed.

There should be a sign Right Turn Only in stead of the dumb No U-Turn sign

I think you have to make a right turn before you can make the U-turn so don't see how that would help.

You are right on! This is a poorly designed area. I avoid it as much as possible.

Kudos to the Lady Lake Police for doing their job.

Thanks Ragman for posting your experience. Now I understand the situation. I agree poor design.

So what about doing a U-turn on a city street? For example someone traveling on the street going into the square...sees a parking spot so does a U-turn to snatch it. I'd have thought this is illegal...but have seen it several times. Also have seen U-turns happening on roads like Odell....
