Cool Exit gates Duh !!

Can anyone give me a rational reason why we have exit gates in the Villages??? We all know that the entrance gates are not authorized to prevent anyone from coming into the community, so does it make any sense for someone leaving the Villages to have to wait for a gate to raise to continue on their way??

They allow time for carts to cross without getting crushed by cars and trucks.

Perhaps to insure that vehicles are at least slowed down before entering the roadway they intend to travel once outside the area? We have all read the stories here about some driver's failure to stop at stop signs.

In most cases it's to slow you down before entering a roundabout (rotary).

To slow you down so carts can cross. With the number of broken gates I have seen you would think they would put better reflectors on the gates.

Do you mean like so many communities that have
installed the L.E.D. rope lights the full length of the gate arm....
.......(simply using Stainless Steel Ties.)
The electric is already in place to power the lights.

We see RED ones on EXIT Gate arms.... and .....
...............White (clear) L.E.D.'s on Entrance Gate arms.

They are lit up 24/7.

I was under the impression the exit gates control the flow of traffic coming out on to the main roads like 27/441, 446, and 446A .

And onto Morse Blvd and Buena Vista Blvd as well!

Don't the entrance gates control incoming traffic so as to slow cars for crossing golf carts? I thought carts crossed to the inside of the exit gates.

Although I agree with you, not all gates have cart crossings inside them, some are on the outside. And not all gates enter into round-a-bouts.

Could it be the exit gate prevent drivers from entering in the wrong lane and causing a head on accident?

Angry

I hate the exit gates going south on Morse just before 466. They should leave them up during the day.

If that's the reason the powers that be give us, it's nonsense.
Nowhere else are there gates to slow someone down when entering a circle.

Why does everyone give excuses for the way people drive here.
There are lousy drivers all over.
Is it because they all eventually move to the villages??!?
