Default Finally had it with Comcast!!!

Had them for many years but enough is enough. Without rehashing all of their short comings, every one of their customers know, they finally gave me a good reason to shop around. I actually thanked them for helping me to make the decision. I'm feeling better already, i have a sense of relief.

By reading the experiences of the people on the blog none of the companies are perfect but I need the relief, don't want to increase my blood pressure meds! In like bundled services so I guess I'll check out Bright house and Century Link. I'll re read the post's and then decide

I also feel the same way you do, and would love to be rid of Comcast, but it is still better than the other service providers. I keep them for the internet mostly, don't watch much cable TV, with Apple TV, I watch Netflix, and have 2 TV's connected to Air, don't get that many channels, but who needs 200 channels, so really don't need cable for TV. Someday in the near future, we all will dump the cable companies, and like the iPhone we will connect to satellite or Towers.

Does anyone know how much Comcast charges for internet only? Neither Brighthouse nor Comcast lists internet pricing on their website without some sort of bundle.

Yeah, you're right, yabbadu. I should just do that, but am not down there or in my house yet. Settling at the end of next month and just wondered if someone already knew. Will call and compare once we're in. Would probably rather go with Brighthouse as we are tired of Comcast too.

If your north of 466a Bright House isn't available, I just spoke to them....

My internet only fee is $66.95/month with Comcast. It just went up $2 a month. I have DirecTV for television and love the Genie DVR which can record 5 shows at a time. I use this feature almost exclusively since I really hate watching commercials.

Thanks to all who have responded to my internet only question. I know it can vary depending on when you sign up, but as I presumed it is quite a bit more expensive down there than up north here. One of the reasons I was happy that we bought south of 466a was the ability to give Brighthouse a try. Have heard mostly good things. Alurb - is your $24.95 price with Comcast? If so, that's a steal!!

We too have Comcast. We ended up getting Direct TV at our home in MI because of the Genie and being able to take it back and forth. We brought it down, called someone to come hook up a new dish and they wanted $300. We obviously were lied to about the ease of doing this and that as a customer, all we had to do is call when we were down here and have the dish installed. We have made several calls, with no luck on getting a dish installed. So be weary of Direct TV, if you are using at 2 locations.

I quit Comcast, went to Century Link and was very sorry I did. We went back with Comcast and won't be changing again soon.
