Default back splash

When putting up a back splash in the kitchen and removing the short granite back splash, did you find the wood on the cabinetry to be damaged by taking off the piece of granite on the side of the cabinet?

I first used a razor blade to break the caulk seal and pried it off. No damage to cabinet
