Default Travel Times (by cart)

Has anyone every made a "Travel Time" Chart, listing the time it takes to get to various location. i.e. - the time it takes to go from 466 to 466A, or 466A to LSL, etc. We're trying to get everything ready for when we get there. I searched on this and didn't see anything. Or, probably missed it. Thanks in advance for any help.

That's what is best about The Villages finding your way around.Meeting people and asking directions. We all love to meet new people. It's about 10 min from 466A to 466 the rest is 10 min.About 10 Min.

my wife and i have used the 20 minute rule,,, from square to square, we have an electric golf cart that way we can listen to music,, it passes the time so much faster. we had a gas when we first came here,, it was like having a riding lawn mower. We can make the trip Brownwood to SS 2times and still have plenty of juice without recharge. 40 mins from BW to SS

By golf cart from the Village of Silver Lake on the ultimate north end to Brownwood at the ultimate southern end - 45 mins maintaing The Villages speed limit and without obstructions such as golf cart traffic and rental carts from The Villages.

By car - approx 30 mins depending on traffic on Rolling Acres Rd. and the left turn lanes @ Morse Blvd and Buena Vista Blvd.

Talking By a factor of 4 if your carts goes 20

I marked this post with a grin as it is my guide, not scientific, but does seem to work. Take the mileage you will travel and multiply by 4. That number will about how many minutes to get there in a cart.

Examples:

My house to my Dad's is 9.2 miles. It takes about 35 minutes.

Brownwood to Spanish Springs is about 11 miles. so 40 - 45 minutes.

To get direction (miles) use googlemaps in 'bike' mode.

Of course the better way is just drive around.......

I never really timed any trips in the golf cart I take. Don't really care. I just put my music on and give myself time to enjoy the ride. In some ways I wished for an expressway for golf carts from the northern most tip of TV to Brownwood but that would wipe out the pleasure part of the ride. I like the reactions of our dog in our cart. He's the one getting the most fun out of it.

I would guess about 30 minutes to LSL from south of 466A.

Add 20 minutes to get to SS.

Brownwood should only be about 15 minjues from 466A south.

If using electric cart, make sure you are fully charged up. If a gas cart, jump in and go!!!!

The difference is because all carts are not created the same, we have a slow one and get passed by other carts all the time . I'm learning to leave a little earlier for a tee time!

I tend to go rather slow in our gas golf cart. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to the Lynnhaven area of the Villages to Lake Sumter Landing. I go everywhere else via car or van. Lots of golf carts pass me on the roads but not so much on the modal pathes.

You should keep in mind where the gas stations are too as I do not remember anything available around Lake Sumter-- only CR466, CR466a, and 441/27. http://util.automobilemag.com/31/flo...as_prices.html
