We love ours (bought at Lowes), but one caveat: they only have one point of tie-down. If you have them halfway down, etc., they blow out in wind and slam continually. It's noisy. A friend of mine put some in that run up and down in channels on either side, so no matter at what point he puts them, they are secure and not flapping. I don't know where he got them, but I would go for that instead.

We've tried to get Lowes to come back and put another set of tie-downs in halfway between open and closed, but the installer never calls us back. I guess it's too small a job for him.

So if you do go with Lowes, order a second and possibly third set of tie-downs and have them installed all at once.

love our coolaroo shades. I agree.. when the wind is blowing the shades are banging and are noisy as well as hitting up against the screens. Now that I've had the shades for a while, I realize that never are the shades all the way down which is where the tie down bracket was mounted. I plan to move those brackets & place them at the usual stopping point and that should take care of the blowing & banging. Otherwise we feel the shades are a good investment & are happy with them.

I love mine and the price was great. I leave them all the way down so there is no flapping around. We put them up when it's heavy wind and rain.
