Default Word Perfect

Does anyone know why I can no longer print Word Perfect documents to my two HP printers. My Mom can't print in WP either. We could print WP documents until about 6 weeks ago. We both have Windows 7. And, it says I am up-to-date on all the drivers. Both printers seem to work on everything but WP.

This started at our home in Michigan. I always bring my small HP printer when we come to TV and I can't print here either. I have the printer connected by both USB and wireless both here and only wireless in Michigan.

I also have Word on my computer but I'm not familiar with it. I have to do my Board minutes while we are here and I like to see the printed version before I send them out.

The only thing I can think of is when I start up my computer it says it can't find something from an old printer I got rid of. It seems weird as I removed that printer through add and remove software.

Any ideas? Is there anyone from the Computer Club that could help me? I think they are meeting while we are here.

It's been a really long time since I've used Word Perfect. I'm going to give you an idea since your printer says it's missing something from your old printer when you try to print the document. If you can copy the entire document using copy and paste. Create a brand new document and paste the info into it. Save it under a new name, then try to print it. I used to use this technique when I worked on my Word documents. You could also save the document off as a .pdf and then print it. Let me know how this turns out.

I had mixed results.

I still couldn't print when I copied a document to a new WP document.

I could print the minutes *straight typing" when I copied them to a new Word document and saved them as a Word document. I lost the centers and tabs but that is an easy fix. I also tried copying a chart and I lost the chart structure but the details were still there.

So, at least I can work on the minutes!!!! Thank you. I guess I will have to call HP Customer Service. I can't tell you how much I hate to call Customer Service!

Wordperfect will automatically use the default printer set up in Windows.

To set up the correct printer in windows I have linked a short youtube video that shows how to do it.

If you have any additional questions you can just call us.

Thank you for your response. I checked and my printer was already set up as the default printer. I even removed the printer and reinstalled it a few weeks ago.

The weird thing is the documents don't even go in the print queue but when I shut the computer down at night it says there is something that hasn't printed. I also checked printing shortcuts and noticed all 6 settings have a "yellow lock" on them.

What do you charge for a service call?
