*sigh* At Bogart/Bacall they're replacing....flat putting greens???? why would you want to practice on flat when none of the greens are flat?

That's a good point. Most practice greens are supposed to provide a variation of green slope conditions or so you would think.

Default If you can putt on flat

greens, it would give you a better idea where the problem might be!...How can you replicate any greens really!....Putting green at Chula Vista is ANYTHING but flat...

Suggest you try the putting green on De La Vista which is only a ten minute golf cart ride from Chula Vista. We live closer to Chula, but never practice on the Chula practice green. I agree that you should be able to practice many different lies, but the Chula practice green is on a side hill, and frankly, it isn't mowed frequently enough.

Default Thank you collie

I agree, if you can putt on flat lie, it tells a lot more about what problem should be corrected..

you get your info or what you base it on, but if you're looking for a flat surface for putting try your garage floor. It'll be faster, but the info is the same.

Strange that the pros don't use flat greens. They do practice "straight" putts and I agree that all putting greens should have a flat area, but it isn't a requirement to learned how to be a good putter.

Folks who generally gripe about this sort of thing are typically poor putters to begin with and age certainly doesn't help....;-)
