Default Lake Sumter Landing "stage show"

Does anyone know if they made their first court appearance? Did they make bail? Where is the mugshot? I read the article in the Daily Sun yesterday morning and sadly learned that I have not read or heard it all. Any enlightment out there?

I have strong mixed feelings about the article. Obviously the reporter and paper enjoyed this one. I did, friends did, we all did.
Looking back at this article.... It can be an ad for TV as far as I'm concerned and will bet some nice lonely 65 plus gals will head this way.
On the other hand. Did they need to cover this? How blatant was their behavior? Who reported them?
Were they 'dating? Married or not etc.
I felt a bit ill afterward. Maybe what went on could have been handled different by the police. And showing a fellow V resident's photo?
what if she ended up going off the deep end over this? Depression or embarrassment leading to stress and worse?
Mixed feelings but if you weren't there it's hard to have a solid opinion on the coverage.
I worry about the stress brought on to a fellow villager who was lonely or not in the right state of mind. Hell, maybe she's popular now.
Either way the writer of the article clearly was creepy, mentioning 3 conservative politicians who appeared in that location. What was the point of that? So did some liberal speakers.
It's just creepy that this had to be displayed with photos.

The Daily Sun story did not include photos. the online newspaper (whose name this forum will not allow you to use) story did include booking photos of both parties. For the lady (?) involved, that was the second time in a month her booking photo appeared in a local newspaper. About a month ago there was the photo accompanying the 'Golf Cart DUI Arrest' story and her arrest. As for the other stuff - first appearance, bond, etc. - not really news, just routine court administration matters.

I too am uncomfortable with their pictures being posted. I mean it's not like we need to identify them to keep the kids safe. This was two consenting adults making a poor decision probably due to, to much alcohol consumption and quite possibly a real problem with it. I do hope they can recover some dignity and find help if needed.

Virtually all of the cops that I know would have told them to get their clothes on and be on their way..not arrest them. Most cops wouldn't want to do all of the paperwork for their arrest. In the scheme of things these are "nothing" charges, so the officer would still be filling out forms after these folks were long gone back home. So I wonder if they got mouthy to the cop or what?

Default Come On Admit It

Come on you naysayers admit it the story was a little edgy and added to an otherwise mundane week. It certainly was a lot more sexier than a poop thread

I agree with you. Good points. My neighbor, who's back in NJ for the summer, said the cops should have just said "Get dressed and get the H out of here." Of course maybe they were too drunk to drive, but they could have called a cab.

That's the difference between NJ--or any large metro area--and here, I guess. In a large metropolitan area, this would have been just one more crazy antic. Here, they had to make a big deal out of it.

Look at it like this. It is Sacred Cow Syndrome. The deputies who cover TV are like a personal security staff for the entity most refer to as "The Developer." I will wager that if it happened in Wildwood, the deputy would have handled it like he saw fit. It happened in Sumter Landing, and he certainly must have called his supervisor for guidance. I am speculating, but feel comfortable that I am on the money.

This couple was just out "Lookin' For Love In All The Wrong Places"

Hey wait -- That sounds like a Country Western song by Johnny Lee

Maybe the entertainers that play at LSL should put that song into their schedule!!

HA HA HA

I agree and this never would have become a story in the first place.
