Default Where to Volunteer

We have owned for five years, but became full time in January. Since our neighborhood is established, most folks think we have a network of friends set up. I am looking for a place to volunteer. I volunteered at the hospital PACU and at Hospice in Ohio. I went to Hospice here, but they will not have a class until September. I would like to be able to meet some people here in The Villages and I would like the place/activity to be somewhat social in nature. I'm somewhat on the young side, 55, so I would not shy away from a very active place to help. In fact, that would probably be preferable. Please let me know what you are involved in or know about. I think when we first bought our home the Daily Sun had a day that they listed places to volunteer and a bit about one or two. I cannot seem to find a listing now.
Thanks for the help.

A great place to volunteer is Villagers for Hospice. It is the fund-raising arm for the Hospice house here in The Villages. They are always looking for volunteers to assist in the many fundraising events that are held during the year. Go to their website at villagersforhospice.org and click on the Volunteer Application tab. They are a very fun-loving group and always welcome new people.
