Default Stick flag etiquette?

Is there a set number of feet you should have between stick flags? I just bought 15 of these at the Walgreens on CR466 and off of Parr. I have noticed that there is a wide diversity in how many feet are between flags in some neighborhoods.

No prescribed distance between flags that I know of. I try to make them equidistant. Just make sure that the flag itself does not touch the ground.

Just be sure you keep them upright . I also feel I should remove them in windy weather. Protocol states that they should be lighted at night but I do not know if that includes the smaller flags.
