Default Storage Facilities

We're in the middle of our downsizing project from a 3 story 4 bedroom home with over 40 years of acquisitions to our 3 bedroom Begonia next year but there seems to be no way to store even the things we can't seem to part with.

Does anyone have a recommendation regarding storage facilities in/near TV and approximate costs?

I'm thinking that we could place seasonal items (Christmas, Halloween) and things that would not do well in an attic.

The rental cost of storage will eventually eat up the value of seasonal items, or for that matter for most items put in storage. Why store?
There are storage facilities all around TV. A google search will indicate who they are.

We use Better Space Storage on 466. We only needed a small unit and they were the least expensive.

Another vote for Better Space Storage. We have a large unit there 10x 25 and is $248 per month. Nice place, clean and attendants always onsite. As a woman, I feel safe going to our unit alone during the day. Hope this helps.

Another vote for Better Space Storage. We have a 10' x 10' for $98 a month. Clean, climate controlled, on site management.

I have a Lantana with a huge garage/mancave that I will be selling. It has a 2 car stretched garage with a golf cart garage that has been stretched 23 feet. The golf cart garage is 43 feet deep. I easily keep my truck, car, motorcycle, 2 carts, fridge and have a workshop also. The entire garage area is air conditioned. This may be the way to go.

I have to agree, it seems to make better sense to cut deeper than to rent a storage unit. We are in the midst of cutting back, too, and I know it's hard. I figure that I can keep about 1 in 20 items and need to ditch the rest. I have kind of crossed over that emotional hump from "it's mine, I love it" to "this stuff is keeping me from the life I want". Now I'm into the next phase of pain, "well, I don't want to just give/throw it away". And NOW is the time to trim, before you pay to have it moved. But $1200 a year for storage? That's a good motivator. Here's pulling for ya!

And just as proof that I'm putting my money where my mouth is: we are avid RVers but fully intend to sell the truck and trailer within a couple of years of arriving at TV. We'll do some intensive traveling in that time and get it out of our systems, but I refuse to pay storage fees for an extended time.

Interesting replies. I'm going to be in the same situation next year. I'll have to rethink paying for storage...

$3000 per year would buy a lot of Christmas decorations.
