We are experiencing a lot of small caterpillar looking critters that are about 1 1 to 1-1/2" long and 1/8" wide. We typically see them after dusk or in the early morning.
Also, lately every morning we have lots of little round ball like critters or shells on our drive/walkways. At first I thought they might be seed pods that were being blown from some plants, but I looked at one under magnification and it appears to be a tiny snail of some sort. They kind of look dried up, so I'm assuming they are dead. Anyone having the same critters around, or ideas on what they are, and how to get rid of them?

If the caterpillar is green with yellow stripes, it's most likely an Army worm. They become little white moths. They can devastate a lawn in no-time flat so be sure and get your lawn treated ASAP if it is these critters.
To me, snails are snails and need to be gotten rid of -- love large ones with garlic butter; otherwise, consider them a nuisance that munches on plants. Either way, I try to make them history ASAP.

Sounds like centipedes.

I was also thinking centipedes. They are very common at this time of year.
If they are orange caterpillar's, with black furry things sticking out of their body, they come from an Oleander plant/tree. Oleander's need to be treated with Liquid Seven every 3 months or so. |

Yep the little critters are as common place as lovebugs but not as cute

I'll have to ask my better half if we have Oleander planted. I'm not plant savvy enough to know. Thanks for the tips!
