Default Ingredients of the Greek Ikarian Longevity Diet

Ingredients of the Greek Ikarian Longevity Diet (not a diet to lose weight, but a life plan of healthy eating).

It's more "what they don't eat, such as processed foods"..........

It's actually nearly identical to my Italian grandparents way of life; everything was fresh; everything was made at home; very little meat was consumed except during holidays.......plus lots of home made wine......which did not have sulfites in it.

Tons of fresh vegetables, heavy on the greens.......
Tons of beans........
Tons of garlic........
Fruit was the dessert of choice.......ditto for nuts.

Cakes and such for just at holiday time.

I don't have time to read the link right now but from what you have said above, it sounds a lot like my diet (if I'm allowed to use the word diet without people thinking that I'm trying to lose weight). The only difference I can see is that I would drop the "cakes and such for just at holiday time".
