It's that time of year when the feral kittens that were born in the spring are starting to move about and be noticed. Please don't look the other way and do nothing. Try to trap them and take them to a rescue or humane society if you are unable to find a home for them. While at my village home (I am currently in NH for a few months) I have tried many times to rescue a feral kitten. Unfortunately, I was not successful. Guess what? While in NH, 8 feral kittens were trapped and I adopted one. She was 7 weeks old and the sweetest kitten I have ever had. To look at her now and think at 10 weeks she could be living outside looking for food, water and shelter breaks my heart. Please help these kittens. Don't let them suffer and live the type of life their mothers have. If you can't save them all, at least try to save one. You won't believe how good it will make you feel.

Not only is this the time of year when most kittens are born, but once a litter is born the queen (mother of the kitties) will be going back into heat shortly thereafter. If you can trap the queen and have her spayed, it is much kinder to at least, trap/spay and release her than to let her keep having kittens.

Bravo, both of you! Cares Center in Lake Panasoffkee will spay or neuter for $30. If everyone did once cat or kitten, we could make a dent in this problem.
