We closed on our new home in Gilchrist in February of 2013 and, like so many Villagers, spent a considerable amount of time during the next year on our golf cart ‘making the rounds’ of neighborhoods near and far looking at landscaping. We quickly realized that there was so much to learn about central Florida vegetation, so many decisions to be made (principally finding a knowledgeable and reputable landscaper) and, of course, a need for consensus between the two of us!

Enter Ron’s Landscaping, Inc. Initially, we read positive things about Ron’s Landscaping on TOTV but weren’t yet ready to proceed. Coincidentally, a few months later we stopped to admire another corner lot and to ask the owners who had done their work. Although they were happy to share the contact information, as our conversation continued, they ended up telling us that if they had it to do over, they would hire Ron’s Landscaping. Several of their neighbors and friends had done so and they were extremely pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated.

When we set up our first consultation, we quickly found that Ron was able, by virtue of his long-time central Florida landscaping experience, to educate us about the correct palms and plants, understand our ideas and improve upon them in ways we would not have previously considered. He quickly earned our confidence as he adeptly answered all of our many questions and concerns.

From the time Ron and his crew arrived until the day they left, we could not have been more pleased with their knowledge, plan of action, dedication and meticulous attention to detail. Each of his employees subscribes to his same work ethic and they are all intent on pleasing the customer. They arrived on schedule each day and worked continuously until our job was complete. Ron’s follow-up and detailed written instructions were gratefully accepted as well. We absolutely could not be more pleased with the experience and the outcome! Nice not to see all the block wall plant beds looks great with the edging.

I think too many folks spend a lot of $$ on them and there is a lot of similarity in the landscaping around here.

Ron does think a bit out of the box, good work.

I also notice Ron has very upto date equipment his truck trails and bobcats etc.

I see some big name landscapers diving dilapidated equipment it says a lot aboult the pride takes on one ones biz or lack there of.

We too opted for no stacked wall in our landscaping. The homeowner next to us had landscaping with extensive stacked walls done one summer while we were up north, and as we looked at our two houses from the street, we knew if we had stacked walls put in, the two houses would look like Lego Land.

My preference would have been dark bark mulch and no edging at all, just a deep V cut between grass and mulch, but we're not gardeners and wish to spend as little time and $ as needed on yard work. Mulch bleaches out and deteriorates and needs to be replaced (even though that is good for the soil). We went with seminole chips (dark brown) and dark green edging to approximate the look of the mulch and are very happy with the results. And the stones have not heated up and destroyed any plants in the two years we've had them. But I still prefer the mulch/no edging look.

I like the stacked wall look too, but get a little tired of it because it is everywhere.
