Post Dennis Prager gives a clear discussion of the Arab/Israeli conflict

Dennis Prager gives a clear and well presented discussion of the Arab/Israeli conflict. The only thing missing is the historical basis for Arabs' animosity towards Jews as explained in the Bible.

I don't believe you can find one person in a thousand who can tell you the history of the area, which demonstrates that there was never an Arab state on the piece of land which is now Israel, or how the various Arab states in the area were "created" by the League of Nations breaking up the Ottoman Empire after World War I.

The area that is now Israel became a British mandate and remained so until the United Nations authorized creation of Israel, which was accomplished in 1948.

The video is brief. I recommend it.

Excellent, Carl!

An excellent history lesson that takes 5 minutes to understand.
Thank you for sharing!

well done, succinct and simply stated.
If more people took the time to see just this video they would know more facts of life there than have ever been presented by the media or our government for the last 50 years.

It should also define the impossibilty of the goals of the many politicians who think they are going to change that centuries old mind set.

And should add clarity to why there should not be a nuclear Iran.

Thanx for posting the link Carl.

I find it interesting that almost 400 people have read Carl's post (as of this writing),
and that you and I are the only ones who have made a comment regarding his thread.

Interesting -- very interesting.

Default Carl in Tampa is one smart guy.

I found this very helpful.

I think the link may have been a little circuitous and may be the reason people have not commented, or, people are afraid of making comments.

I know that I fear the radical Muslims wherever they are.

I saw that video a couple days ago and found it amazing he could explain the problem in five minutes. I have had several discussions online since with people and was amazed how they could simply by pass the reasoning. There is a second video by ThePragerUniversity (all five minute videos) called the Israel Test. It speaks to how a person/country reacts to success and attainment. Some people want to emulate and admire; others want to tear down and are angry. Very interesting also.

I'd say both of these videos are way too simplistic. I'm very pro-Israeli but it is hard to justify many of the actions taken by Israel in the past ten years. I don't think a compromise can ever be reached. Sadly, I doubt that even if Palestinians were offered good land elsewhere that they would take it and there is no way that Israel dare give up the West Bank or Gaza at this point.

I've been to Israel. I love the country. I've been in the home of both Jews and Arabs. These Arabs did not flee in 1948. They stayed to work with the Jews and helped create a new nation. They did not act like nor appear to be second-class citizens. They acted like much like most middle-class families throughout the world. This family told me that the Jews pleaded with the Arabs to stay and help make Israel a great nation. Many (most) Arabs said they would grab the land back the day the British left and the rest is history.

I am very glad you chimed in Redwitch. I believe there was a reason why Dennis Prager had to study a number of courses on the Middle East to understand it. He should go back to these studies.

The other YouTube also seemed too simple.

I would like too see a link to more realistic approaches to how this problem might be solved. It looks a lot like something we would need a Solomon to solve. Prager is no Solomon.

This seems to be a better discussion of the violence in Israel. http://www.vox.com/2014/7/17/5902177...t-you-were-too

This is a very complex issue with much bias on both sides of the conflict. If it were as simple as these videos present it, then it would have been resolved a long time ago. It is an issue that is clouded by decades of emotion, hatred, cruelty, and uncompromising rhetoric. I hope that future generations can find a way.

So true. Sad when continued conflict is the easiest approach taken to this dilemma.

Those tunnels though do look like a real tactical problem for the Israelis. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/20/wo...rael.html?_r=0
