Today, I received an email from a spouse who is going through a difficult time. Her ill spouse is in the hospital (not ethical to discuss cause of hospitalization) in serious condition. I called her and it reminded me that there are many unique challenges for those caring for a chronically ill husband or wife. Participating in a support group with people experiencing similar situations is helpful for the healthy spouse.

Last year, I had offered to start a support group for the healthy spousal caregivers. On the date of our first meeting, my wife was hospitalized and I was unable to follow through with the formation of the group. My personal circumstances have improved and if there is still interest in this type of group, please let me know by sending an email or by responding to this post. Let's help each other.
