Smile ? on car rental - pick up at Sanford Airport

Hi,
We are flying in for five weeks (for September). We need a good car rental .... looking for best price.

We are renting in TV and need transportation while we "house shop"

Is priceline the best way of going for a deal? ... Or is there a better option available.

Thanks,
Gary7

We use Enterprise Car rental. One day rent is $75. We drop it off at the Enterprise office at LSL. We rent a golf cart and use it 100%. When it's time to go back to Sanford, we pick up at car at LSL.

We rent our carts from Don at RENT ME.

I would Google the Sanford Airport and look for info on the car rental agencies there. In The Villages we have Hertz in Spanish Springs and Enterprise in Lake Sumter Landing. If you can get a deal from either of those in Sanford then while in TV if you would develop car problems you would have a local solution. If you are house shopping you certainly will want a car, especially if you are considering resales, because of the sheer size of TV. Also fun to have a cart to do some exploring.
P.S. There are also local shuttle services that can get you to and from all the local airports.

Just wanted to share my experience. It could save you some money. I rented from Enterprise a couple of years ago, and they did not charge for the second driver (my husband). They told me that FL is a community property state, so they don't feel a need to charge extra. If one does something, the other is equally responsible. I have NO idea what that has to do with an extra driver charge. We were not talking about insurance, but it saved me $70 for the week. I asked why the other companies did charge, and the rep just said because they can, or something like that.

Also, I believe most companies will waive the extra driver charge if you are either AAA or AARP members (as long as it's a spouse). Be sure to ask and also ask for the discount.
