Default Bond Assessment

Has anyone received a notice about Bond Benefit Assessments in 2014-15 and understand what it means? There will be a public hearing Sept 12 @ Savannah Center, but I would like to know what it means now. Thank you.

Did you receive this in the mail? Could you possibly post it here?

Who sent the notice? Who will host this meeting at the Savannah Center?

I think you are talking about the TRIM notice you received by mail. This is not a bill but the county's estimate of your tax bill for 2015.

Why would they have a public meeting about it?

We haven't received a TRIM notice. Were they just recently mailed out?

What is a TRIM notice?
TRIM is an acronym for the Truth In Millage Law, passed in 1980 by the Florida state legislature. It was designed to keep the public informed about the taxes as proposed by local taxing authorities. The TRIM notice is the Notice of Proposed Property Taxes required by this law. Property owners should receive a TRIM notice each August.

Just got the notice I think OP is referencing. No big deal, no additional assessment or any such issue. Just a legally-required notice (kind of like the things they have to publish in the newspaper) is my take on it.

Default Notice

The one we got is for District 3. It has nothing to do with your Trim Notice.

This is about your bond payments (amortized) and the annual Maintenance assessments. Florida Law requires that notice be given and a public meeting held for comments/clarification and the opportunity to appeal in writing within 20 days if you don't agree. (This is somewhat on the order of banks, etc. being required to tell you about their privacy policies.)

Hope this helps.

It's the estimate for 2014 not 2015 taxes.

It isn't the trim notice. I know what that is and have already received that one. This is for District 3 about the bonds that have not been fully paid.

Just got our TRIM.Taxes up about $100 on a patio villa.A $36 increase (about 3%) would seem to be a fair increase.

Sorry no one has answered your question. I'm afraid I don't have the answer either as I don't live in your district. I do know some bonds are being refinance at a lower interest rate. Could this be what your meeting is about?
Edited after reading this AMs daily Sun. Section C pg9....it appears that the meeting is about how to collect the payments in a uniform manner. Nothing else changes.

Default District 3 maintenance assesment notice

I have also received this notice from district 3. It is titled "Village Community District no. 3 notice of hearing to impose and provide for collection of benefit and mainte3nace non-ad valorem assessments" and it is dated August 19, 2014.
Lots of very big numbers and words but I also do not understand what it means. I wish it was written in non-legal language but it is not.
Anyone know what this really means?
