Default Big Day Today

Today is officially the first day of my last work year before retirement.

We spent labor day weekend in our TV home and will be here full time next September.

Congrats on your big day. I'm envious, especially going back to work today after 3 days off. We'll be joining you soon. Now go and enjoy life!

I only have 3 months left until retirement - 12/13/14 is the big day. Spend the holidays with family in Boston and then finally will be in TV land in early January. YAY

Great-- when my wife retired her co-supervisor mad a paper chain with 365 links and each day Lorry would rip one off and thus count down the year.
Hope the year goes easily

When I had a year to go, I built a calculator in Excel that had the total number of days and the number of work days - made it seem much shorter (subtract vacation, sick days, olidays and weekend days). Good luck, it will happen sooner than you think!

There is an App you can get for your IPad called T-Zero. You set it for your countdown date and give it a title and then you can check the years or days or hours left. We are at 339 days and 6 hours, 23 minutes, 10 seconds, 9 seconds, 8 seconds....you get my point!

We started the decluttering process a year ago. The charity truck has been to our house 4 times already and has at least 2-3 more trips before the big move.

I started changing my signature on e-mail at work when I was down to a year. Every day I changed the number of days until my retirement. There were no apps back then.

My retirement date is 1/31/15. Will be a frog by mid-February. Can't wait.

Congrats on your impending retirement.

The days will seem to go slow and voila, it your final day!!!!

Keep busy with your decluttering, and making plans, and the time will move more quickly.

Think of your time left in smaller chunks, as one year sound soooooooooo long.
