Not a surprise. They have a Winn-Dixie at Pinellas, one at 44/301, and Sav-A-Lot on 301.

I've never been in there, but it looks "sketchy" from the outside
This is just MHO

We shopped there all the time before the one at Pinellas opened. It was clean, good people, and customers were not sketchy at all. I'm sorry it's closing. We planned to resume shopping there when the winter TV rush began.

Many of there employees came to the new store to help ease the opening and helping new employees learn the ropes. Some of them stayed. I hope the rest can be relocated to other stores.

Why is it, "Not a surprise"?

WD is know to be the Beef People.....and they are absolutly correct.

The meat, steaks in particular, are the best I have ever eaten.....
No one can compete.....as far as I am concerned......

Sorry to hear they are closing, just means I will have to travel a little farther to get to another WD for the best meats..

I have shopped at the WD in the villages on 466a and found it to be a very nice store with friendly employees.

The store in Wildwood has been at a good location and sometimes I'd dash in and get just what I needed, at good prices.

Some think the working people (or maybe welfare recipients) at the Wildwood Winn Dixie look "sketchy", but I think the regulars--AKA "BAR FLIES"--at a certain porch bar at Lake Sumter are "sketchier".

It continues to amaze me the thoughts some of you have on the people in the surrounding communities. It really is a shame.

Maybe not a loss to you, but certainly a loss for many people in close proximity without other means of transportation. Also a potential loss to other businesses in the location who count on the draw.

Nothing wrong with that store or the people who shop there. Unfortunate victim(s) of the economics.

Default Always in the End Plans

Management told me this was all in the plans to close the Wildwood Store when Pinellas opened.. or for that matter when the new store was in the plans to be built.

Hope another anchor tenet will take that spot as the lower traffic will be a negative for the fine folks that own Wildwood Cyclery in that same shopping center.

Would be a great location for an Aldi !
