There is a barely hidden national malaise. If one reads, really reads, current affairs re: economy, trillions upon trillions of national debt, perceived racism, international affairs, trashing of traditions, indiscriminate whacky interpretations of the Constitution, topsy-turvy healthcare system, medical scourges, etc., it is hard to be happy. This country used to be the rock. Now we're trying to crawl out from under it.

When I hear how far the White House was invaded, and those who protect our President were so lax, AND THEN..reading how people felt that the secret service was lax because they were racist...

When I hear how the recent death of an Ebola patient is being blamed on racism....

When I hear we will NOT close or restrict the borders to combat Ebola gaining entry into the country.....

When I hear that ISIS is on the verge of SLAUGHTERING christians in Iraq, and we are not going to do anything, much as we did not help the Syrian folks who were gunned down in the street....

This is depressing because it is not only fact it is happening, it is promulgated by our media and is what we see always, with no let up.

When headlines are about this stuff and so much more, if you have mental anguish to start with it just becomes bigger.

It has become so depressing in my country...so very depressing...So many examples of this stuff and nobody seems to care at all.

I am sorry, but it just seems to me that the last few weeks we have turned a corner......news get worse each day and our leaders pretend it is not happening. Like this country is in a death spiral of sorts.
