Default Any Experience with Village Dental

Does anyone have experience with Village Dental on 111 LaGrande, Lady Lake. They have three dentists, DRs Hards, Farrell, Hall. I need multiple implants and bridge work done.

I would suggest getting a second opinion. My neighbors have told me stories of being told they need thousands of dollars worth of work but when they went elsewhere, they needed much less work.

I agree with Bonnevie. I had a similar experience with them and had not missed a six month checkup with a dentist for decades.

Get a second opinion. I love PalmRidge Dentistry behind Lang Eye on 466. Reem Jabar is still accepting patients. She and Dr. Kathleen Williams were both trained at University of Florida Dental school. They are the best and most intelligent dentists I have EVER run into. And very patient and kind too.

There are a lot of inferior and unscrupulous dentists in Florida, in my opinion.

They are very expensive and they always want to do unnecessary work !!
Went to Marion Dental for a second opinion and he says there is no way he would do what was recommended. Said I certainly didn't need it. Been going there 10 years and love them !!

Palm Ridge does not take insurance, but will submit claims for you if you ask. So you pay up front, they submit claims, and you may get money back. I was just there and the visit cost $200. They submitted a claim to Delta Dental and I got a check from Delta Dental for $60.

When I moved here and began to look for a dentist I called Village Dental. Left a message and it took two days for a return call. I finally settled on Dr. Reem Jaber at Palm Ridge Dental and I really believe she may be the best dentist I've ever experienced. I'm reallly happy with her work, and so are my teeth.

I agree initial visits Village Dental does what I call upselling. For me it was easy, I just advised them all I was interested in was function and healthy mouth....nothing more. That I did not have a vanity streak requiring all kinds of attention/$$$$.

After getting that established. I think they are among the better providers in the area. They have the latest equipment and techniques. Their customer service and patient orientation is very good.

Like any other "contractor" of services some need to be managed!

I found they have state of the art equipment and education, but are way out of my price range. Four implants attached to a metal bar and a permanent lower denture cost more than a 2014 Mustang - $25.5K. No way I can justify that in my own mind.

Buena Vista Dental is excellent. Both Doctors McKnight and Barnett can be trusted. No unnecessary work. Village Dental is outrageously expensive and our opinions (both wife and I) were that unnecessary push for treatments not required.

Agree with the rest of the comments about Village Dental. Every other dentist I've gone to over the years have commented on how well I take care of my teeth. Village Dental told me my teeth were in terrible shape and needed major work done. I knew better and made a quick exit, never to return. I also told the doctor (Farrell) how I had a phobia of dentists and dental work (which is why I take such good care of my teeth - minimal work necessary) and his comment? "Get over it". Yeah, I want a doctor with compassion like that! NOT!

I would not recommend Dr. Farrell. He suggested many thousands of dollars of work for me, also. My teeth are perfectly fine, but Dr. Farrell said the work would give me a more "uniform color". Recently, I needed a replacement crown on a back molar. Dr. Farrell removed the old crown and prepped the tooth. The assistants did all impressions, fitted the temporary and did the bite adjustment. My finished crown does not resemble a "tooth" at all. I got a second opinion, and the dentist could not believe this crown was made in a lab. It functions just fine and isn't visible when I smile, so I have decided to keep it rather than risk more damage to the tooth. But I cringe when I think that I have similar work done on my front teeth. Dr. Farrell didn't even check the work when the assistant finished.
