Just bought a pre-existing home and I need help with paint color combinations plus design help. Anyone have a good experience with an independent decorator not associated with a specific store?

We hired Ruth Dyer that writes the Saturday column in the Daily Sun.

She did a very good job for us.

Second vote for Ruth Dyer. We started with very little and it is now beautiful. The few things we brought with us she worked into her design. She shopped for furniture with us and helped with color and fabrics. She is a delight.

You also might be interested in MSI Designs, Michelle Ivanchek. My husband and I bought a courtyard villa and hired MSI. Michelle was fantastic with colors, window treatments, furniture, trim, flooring, carpet, countertops, fixtures... We communicated by phone and mail as I didn't have time to be there and what a job. Awesome. She was fantastic. She listened and understood exactly what I wanted.

We worked with Fran at Drab to Fab and she is wonderful! She will help as much as you want -just advice or whole redo. She helped with what furnishings to look for and she hangs pictures too! Her # is 352-750-6762.

How much does Ruth Dyer or MSI Designs charge?

I would imagine it depends on size/type of job.

I used Jennifer Gaab from Superior Design Source and she was fantastic! I cant say enough for how much she helped me and her prices were really good. Give her a call 561-5611, you will be glad you did.
