Default Promise Hospital

My husband is due to be released from Shands soon. He has to have 6 weeks of IV antibiotic treatment for a knee infection currently has only med block no knee yet. This surgery has shut down his kidneys so now need dialysis also. We were looking att freedom point, but now with dialysis promise hoital might be a better fit. Anyone have any experience with that facility? I need all the info I can get. Thanks.

Your physician at Shands will determine which facility would be best. Promise Hospital is an acute care facility which may be the likely choice.

Be sure to inform your Doc regarding location and availability
of Promise Hospital Villages.

A friend had a hell of a time convincing the Doc to send him to Promise.

Seems Promise Villages was not on the list of available places that was provided to the Doc by his Staff support.

In 2014, his LIST had last been updated by his Staff in 2002.

In my hood, the chain is as good as the WEAKEST link.

As a former hospital nurse I would say Promise Hospital is your best bet. Stay away from nursing homes. Good luck.

I have no advice on whether Promise is good or not, but just want to say from a wife who's husband has had a knee infection....God bless you both and I hope he has a quick recovery. It's hell to go through:-(

Default Promise Hosp

Just an update. Promise Hospital was great. Hubby is due to come home tomorrow and doing well due to the care he received at Promise. All the nurses and docs were great. We were so grateful to have this facility close to home. Now to just get through the next few months. He will hopefully get his new knee in Feb.

Now that is the best Christmas gift for you both - home for the holidays.
