Anyone have a good lawn sevice for mowing, trimming, etc. that does not require payment in advance and does a good job. I would like some suggestions.

I second this recommendation. TLC Lawn Maintenance is reliable, reasonable, and they do a good job. Shayne is the owner.

I must agree on Hometown Services. A year ago they were just terrific!
Great in everyway... Now just the opposite new workers almost every week and equipment not fit for your lawns... in fact before I fired them I had to loan them my blower and my string trimmer in order to get my lawn finished for the day! The original owner apparently left the company, I was told, and one of the original money backers also pulled out.. When I originally hired them I was so happy with their work... I referred them to 2 of my neighbors... now I have to eat crow for a few more months of their contract..

Thanks it is good to hear about and good companys, but even more important to hear about the bad ones!

I've had TCL ( Tri County Landscape ) for several years and have been happy, but they have dropped their trimming services for shrubs, so this is my last month. Thanks for the contact info.

We had TLC for over 3 years with great service and no complaints and they dropped us.
They also discontinued servicing all of our neighbors. They did forward our business to Lawn Solutions of Central FL and they have done a good job and we still pay monthly.
