He sounds just about like B. Hussein Obama's ex-preacher man.* Pretty much the same message, dontcha think?* More America slamming - as if our government is God almighty and is capable of controlling everything, all the way down to the last forclosure.* That is paranoid, delusional and downright unhelpful to the American cause and spirit.

Wow...what part was paranoid and delusional? Maybe if we don't think about it, it will go away. It's not America slamming. Questioning wrongs is what makes America great. Do you really think this administration had nothing to do with any of the things this man suggested? I ask this honestly and with curiousity, not in a demeaning way. I've read enough of your posts to respect you and am really interested in why you reacted as you did to this video.

As a writer and wordsmith, it always interests me to look at the connotations and denotations of words and names. Whenever I see a focus on Barak Obama's middle name Hussein, I wonder what feelings a name like Omar Bradley elicits? Do we remember Five-Star-General Omar Bradley, known as "the soldier's general," and his outstanding service to our country during World War II?

This is not a comment on the video nor a political statement in response to it.

I thought the video as a production was pretty good! It stated a position and presented it in a calm and non-threatening manner. That's darned good salesmanship!

My business has me always looking at things from at least three sides (one extreme, the other, and somewhere in the middle). Knowing a person's viewpoint is the first step toward understanding, education and change (if appropriate).

Ignoring the viewpoint won't make it go away.

Thank you Sidney, great comment. I've thought that as well, but couldn't have articulated it as well as you did. And thank you also Samhass, Susanand Tom, it is a thought provoking video.

And yet one more thread that belongs in political. If all the threads that were political were posted correctly, this forum would be over 50% politics. Again it is still a political rag with some valuable information sprinkled in. Keep your politics in the political forum so the rest of us are not subjected to your biases.

The video is paranoid in that the actions of our government are portrayed as synonymous with "terrorism". It is delusional in portraying that our government has the power to prevent anything bad happening to us. It presumes purposeful recession, purposeful real estate speculation, purposeful foreclosures, and a myriad of other "sins", all at the hands of the federal government.* In fact, our individual habits, obsessions, and appetites have more influence on our welfare than does our government.*

The video portrays virtually the same tone and message that our adversaries in the middle east expressed following 9/11:* Anything bad that happens to us is the fault of our government.* And that is just not true.* And the Hussein part...he was indeed a Muslim, albeit a "nominal" one as documented in a variety of sources.* And given the recent history of that religion, it certainly matters to me.

Yes, the video was thought provoking - my thoughts were provoked, and I expressed them...just not the way some of you agree with.* Oh well. :dontknow:

I don't have any problem with this thread being moved to the political heading.*

gf -- CNN very much debunked the "Muslim" myth regarding Obama. Whether you like him or not, he deserves the basic respect of being called by the name he prefers. He does not and has not gone by his full name. He goes by Barack H. Obama. What is so hard about giving any human the basic consideration of calling them what they wish so long as that name is not obscene or hurtful to another?

I didn't take that the government was the terrorist from the video but rather what if all of this was caused by individuals or groups determined to harm the US. Hitting our economy would certainly be far more effective than any other act of terrorism.
