Default gunshots in the early morn and at dusk

I'm sure many around Lake Miona are hearing 'sounds'..that sound like gun shots..early am..and then at dusk.

I heard there is legal duck hunting..if not..what are they shooting at?

Anyone have info on that..and are these wild ducks or is the Villages stocking the area so people can shoot these creatures?

Maybe they are shooting at other things..but its kinda annoying knowing that hunting is going on so close to home.

Wild pigs, they do a lot of damage to the gulf courses.

I'm pretty sure what you are hearing are duck hunters on Lake Miona. However, Lake Miona (the actual Lake Miona) is not part of The Villages. As loud as it may sound, it is a safe distance from homes in The Villages. Yes, they are wild ducks.

Atmospheric conditions were just right this morning.....the sound of duck hunting woke me, all the way over in Caroline. Everyone started shooting at the same time. If I were a duck, I'd be heading to The Villages...
First time in 8 years we've heard the hunters!

The duck hunters were here long before The Villages. This too shall pass.

We live in Sabal Chase and it woke us up around 6:30 AM. Can't believe there is shooting going on in a residential neighborhood. Are they crazy????

Heron borders Lake Miona.

Read this somewhere.....[emoji6]

While most hunting-related incidents do not involve nonhunters, golfers and other outdoor enthusiasts getting out to enjoy the day should think safety as well, by sticking to established paths and wearing blaze orange during hunting seasons.

Ok, I understand your concern. But duck hunters aren't using rifles while walking through the woods where they might confuse a human with a deer or another animal. They are, for the most part, sitting in a boat, using a shotgun to shoot at ducks in-flight. Thier shotgun pellets will come nowhere near you. Rest easy about that.
