Default Credit Union in The Villages?

I recently read a threat on TOTV regarding the number of banks with a limited number of choices. It got me thinking as I am not as yet a resident (but plans are in the making) are there any Credit Unions in or nearby or in The Villages? I am a huge fan of Credit Unions over banks.

Your thoughts and insight please.

I did a search on Google maps, and it showed 2 on 441 neat Spanish Springs, several miles away from the new housing.

We left our account at a credit union in Michigan and use campus usa on 441 for our banking. They are a service center for our credit union. Located on 441 just outside of the villages.

There is Fairwinds, Insight and Campus USA Credit Unions located on Hwy 27/441. Fairwinds & Insight are across from Home Depot in Lady Lake and Campus USA across from WalMart in Summerfield. Guess they stay out of Villages owned property to serve a wider area and to keep rental costs down which benefits their members.

I just researched my CU and they also use Campus USA as a service center! Thanks for the info, I would have never thought of this as an option.

Leave it to TOTV members to save the day yet once again!

Thank you delima2000!

There are no credit unions in the financial centers on 466 or 466a. As posted they are storefront small service centers. I belong to a large credit union out of orlando that has a regular branch in leesburg. It is central flordia educators c. u. with 2 Billion dollars in assets. I do everything online but have visited it a few times.

I use Citizens First Bank for all my banking needs. They are a terrific bank!

Default Citizens not exactly full service

We still have a credit union account in Utah and opened a Citizens account here. We have found them friendly and easy to access. But ETAs are slow and they do no mobile checking.

Even our little credit union in Utah did photo deposits. Not available at Citizens. With a rental house our of state and family in 4 states, we miss the convenience of the services we left behind.

Maybe we need to check out some of the local credit unions. But for us, near Brownwood, maybe Leesburg. We find it a PITA to get to the 441 shopping area.
