Default Pro Sports Teams

As the pro football and basketball teams are in the sports news, I would like to put forth some criteria I think should be implemented.

First, professional players make WAY too much money. I believe the highest paid player should get no more than the President which is $400,000 per year.

Secondly, the players usually have no affinity for their city - they go where the money is highest. I propose a player would have to be a tax paying resident of a city or state for a period of 2 years before being able to play on their sports team.

Thirdly, the teams would have to be in proportional ratio in ethnic makeup as the city or geographical area for that team. Some cities may find themselves at an advantage or disadvantage depending on which sport we are discussing - but since these teams are sports, good sportsmanship is the name of the game.

Thank you for reading and I will gladly accept the position of commissioner of any professional sports league - as long as I can name my own salary.

Why would you do this ? Are you proposing the same rules be in effect for any computer companies....oil companies.....airlines ?

What is the difference I would ask.

These teams have sufficient money with income from television, etc to pay the salaries, and I think you are always favoring workers getting all they can for their services...thus why are you restricting these employees from making money ?????

Why would a player pay a fine for leaving for a better job ? This is our market and I sure do not want anyone restricting people from making what they can.

And I am really hoping you posted this with tongue in cheek.

Rags, I am pretty sure Sandtrap is pulling on our collective legs.

But while we are at it, I may as well put in that maybe college football players should only be picked from the engineering department....and MUST be on full academic scholarships.

Pie in the sky. Yessir.

And then insist on equal pay for equal work based on production statistics and enforce the laws against discrimination while you're at it!

Pro sports has fan base that pays outrageous price for ticket to see games. This is what called the trickle down effect. Don!t like the pay of the player stop going to the games eventually the contracts will come down and the price of ticket. I think that's called the free enterprise system.

IMO most engineers are geeks and too smart to play sports. How do you think they got smart? Staying inside and studying " notice I said most"

Gee, maybe Seinfeld could have pulled this off more successfully than I did.

Glad I never took up being a standup comic for a living.
