I like the chimichanga at El Ranchito, in La Plaza Grande on the historic side! Very reasonable prices, also!

Has anyone checked out the Mexican-fresh restaurant at Colony Plaza? The article in V-Magazine sounded quite interesting.

dandt....

That would be Juan's Mexicali...which is a chain. You'll find an earlier review of it on TOTV. It was OK, not great, not awful. I say it is a step up from Taco Bell but not a full fledged Mexican restaurant like Chevys or On the Border.

Don't get your hopes up....

I ate at Juan's Mexicale last week. The menu is not the typical Tex/Mex fare, I had a Cuban wrap. The place was clean and the service was quick. This was at dinner time and there were 4 customers in the place. Web site http://www.juansmexicali.com/ for menu. I'd try them again with a different item.

El Ranchito, in La Plaza Grande near the post office on the historic side will get my vote for best Mexican food.

True Mexican food with reasonable prices and good service.

I know it's a chain but i love Chevy's. Closest one seems to be near Disney though.

El Ranchito in La Plaza Grande is my favorite local Mexican Restaurant. However, the absolute best I have had in the area is Taquitos Jalisco in Winter Garden. It is truly authentic, delicious, and reasonably priced. When I was last there a couple years ago, they had wonderful sangria and a Mariachi band that was great fun. It could easily be a destination day trip.

Try El Rodeo up in Belleview. It's in the KMART plaza. We ate there last week on a friend's recommendation and found it to be good. I'll have to eat there a couple of times before I recommend it with enthusiasm but our first experience was a good one. The chile rellenos were done in a different manner than I have ever seen them but they were tasty. Best of all, the pepper sauce was my favorite!!!! I'll be interested in any other comments.
