AD CANCELLED. Can anyone recommend a reasonable tree service in The Villages that maybe you have used in the past.

If you live in lady lake you need one of their permits also. We just got the ok from the arc. review board To have a tree removed .We had estimates running from $500.00 to $1250.00 to remove the tree. Most wanted you to pull the permit but lady lake advises against it. The city of lady lake checks to make sure the contractor has workmans comp. just in case there is an injury. So you weight the pros and cons before hiring someone. We went with stanage tree service. Tree will be down in two weeks.

We used Wilburn's. Very reasonable, included the grinding of the large stump. It was a huge magnolia that had been struck by lightning and killed. The permit process in Lady Lake was a nightmare.

As several noted above, Lake County has a rather strict permitting process for tree cutting. In addition, The Villages (no matter which county) usually requires Architectural Review Committee (ARC) approval for most tree cutting. Homeowners are responsible to get all the approvals. You pay the 'big bucks' to some tree or landscape service to handle all that for you so I'd ask to see copies of the permits before letting them cut. Some have been known to (gasp) lie.
