Default Robbery In TV

Did anyone see the article in the Sun about the robbery? You have to be stupid to enter a Villagers house. Many Villagers are armed and could be dangerous!

Samhass,

You're so right. And the State of Florida has pretty much backed up using armed intervention, if occupant believes his/her life is in danger. This is not a State that says you must try to get away from the threat. Quite the contrary, it is perfectly okay to stand your ground here, and defend yourself. Would be robbers should take heed! ;D

Unfortunately, these types of people usually go for the weakest link. Not everyone is comfortable or can handle a firearm.

The house was vacant at the time, it was a burglary, not a robbery.

No doubt not everybody can handle a firearm. That was apparent about two months ago when a 71 year old female Village resident dropped her concealed weapon in the Villages hospital lobby and it went off. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Guns not permitted in the hospital and not sure if charges were ever filed. She should have her permit revoked.

Why worry about bad drivers when you have 70+ year olds walking around with guns!

Bimmertl, I'm not 70+ and have a rifle and pistol range at my home up north. I'm pretty competent and comfortable. 8) I agree the woman that dropped her pistol should have her permit revoked. She wasn't supposed to carry in the hospital anyway.

I have a permit for my pistol and I keep it well oiled and loaded in an undisclosed location with easy access should I need it in a hurry. I pity the fool that tries to burglarize the house when I am home. I did 3 tours of Viet Nam and I am willing to use it without hesitation.

PS I never carry it outside the house.
