This is BUCCO
I identify myself because I have a question for everyone. I did read many of the old posts although I recall it well. I see where I am criticized for anything objecting to the policies of this administration. This morning on the regular threads, I was criticized for being opposed to things done by this administration. On this political, if you go back to 2007, you will find my objection to our current President BEFORE he was even a candidate (by the way, most of the concern I expressed then has come to be) Now, the President was elected. If I oppose some policy from this WH, am I to stay quiet ? Since most action is coming from the WH, am I not to say i disagree ? Since he is the CINC, am I not to express my concerns ? If any criticism of this WH will be met with comments about you shouldnt do that for on reason or anther, WHY HAVE POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS OF ANY KIND. He is the President....every President comes under more scrutiny than any person on earth. Is this President different in some way ? I am asking because to not discuss his performance pretty much takes everything off the board politically and the name calling I endured in the old political forum and even this morning already on the regular thread is just not something I wish to tolerate. It seemed to be okay to criticize President Bush and President Clinton but for someone reasons their are posters who expect everyone to hold their tongue relative to this White House. Would appreciate responses because the assault already aimed at me BEFORE this was open pre conditioned me that all my posts will do UNLESS THEY AGREE WITH THE PRESIDENT is generate personal attacks, and that is not what I want nor what anyone should want. If that is the case let me know...... Appreciate any responses....I want no more unsettling PMs simply because I do not agree with someones policies. If you want ONLY to hear what I agree with him on, I do have some and will keep it restricted to that. Just keep in mind...the President of the United States is the most analyzed and criticized man in the world, and if there is a reason that this should not apply to our current President please share. |

I do understand.....I suppose I over reached in my attempt. Just got torpedoed without the forum and I do not want to take away from the effort of allowing this forum. If criticism of this President will bring this forum to a spot where nobody will discuss and only aim at me, then I will refrain. Hope that clarifies the reason. People should have a place to discuss current events, and if the pre determind bad guy rep I have will take away from that, I will be glad not to post. |

We must identify the people or organizations or groups we quote officially. I really like to know who is saying what. Or it is just ..........soup.

When that nuclear bomb is thrown, there is NO more discussion. But then, censorship is what they want….in favor of political correctness AKA: Newspeak is the fictional language in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, written by George Orwell. It is a controlled language created by the totalitarian state as a tool to limit freedom of thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace. Any form of thought alternative to the party’s construct is classified as "thoughtcrime"….. |

I quit the political about two days after it was created the first time. There was no respect shown -- not for the President, not for each other, not even any self-respect. It came down to innuendo, name calling, I'm right and you're an idiot. Wasn't worth the effort.
There are some that will insist only their viewpoint is valid. Sadly, political discussions brings that viewpoint and attitude to the forefront. Sounds like you were subjected to this mentality. |

I do not agree with this President, but I respect both him and the office. S When the political forum began, he was not even a candidate and the President at that time was called some really vile and obscene names. Since this President took office, the same folks who did that, now ask that we respect the office. When you run for President, the assumption is that you are running because you think you can lead the country in the right direction, and NOT use the political electoral process as an end to itself. This President so misrepresented himself, not always his fault...things change. I DO RESPECT THE OFFICE....I WILL NEVER SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE MAN. I WANT TO DISCUSS THE ISSUES. When you become President, you become the most criticized man on earth and to say that criticizing what he does and what he says because you sincerly disagree is in itself disingenious. The office men and women aspire to as President carries with it a job that in itself is impossible. I will help you attack anyone who attacks his morals for no reason...i will help you attack anyone who attacks his character for no reason, but disagreeing with how he handles MY countries business is NOT disrespect. |
