LOL! It surely DOES resemble a dollar sign on the altar. However, since this is a church in Northern Ireland, I suggest that it's the letters of the name of the church or perhaps something is the Gaelic language.

Barefoot, thank you for posting that photo. Both my parents immigrated from Ireland and I'm familiar with most things Irish including the Celtic Cross. However, I've never seen that before. Thanks, again.
