Has anyone tried the Hercules hook instead of picture hangers. The ads look good but:

Also claims to hold shelves.

We purchased a package of 10 here at Walmart in The Villages. The are reasonably priced.

They do work, but have not tried them on shelves. The picture on the box looks like a small wooden rack that they refer to as shelves.

Since the hook part is the only things that extends from the wall, the shelves would have to have something for the hook to fit into.
