Default For rail fans - Wildwood is Great

As a soon to be resident of TV and a Railfan, I'm looking forward to photographing some of the old rail yards, rolling stock and engines that still adorn the many sidings in Wildwood.

I anticipate in the next decade of so, as part of Wildwood's vision for preserving its heritage, that railroading will be a part of what is preserved in some fashion.

gfmucci,
You mentioned you are a railfan, when you move to TV, you won't want to miss the Folkston Funnel, located in Folkston, GA . Just 3 hours north on 301 /US 1, another rail town and a gathering spot for railfans. Another small town, that's been put by the wayside, since the interstate came through.

Why the post at the top was moved from the Wildwood thread where I originally posted it is a head scratcher.* It was intended as a positive support for the town and fit in with the other Wildwood posts.

Anyone know a source for Wildwood railroad history?

Try the Wildwood Historical Society, I'm not sure who in charge now but contact Jim Stevens (city manager) at the city hall. He has been an active member
