Default Beds

Hi, first I'd like to say that I love TOV. I have learned so much from it and it has helped us decide to buy in TV. We just bought a Kenya Villa that will close on July 30th. Probably won't be there for the closing, but shortly after I'll come down to check it out. We won't be living there full-time until next year, but will be coming down whenever we can. We're starting from scratch with the exception of my looms, yes I'm a weaver. Anyhow, when we go down for the first time, we're going to need a bed asap. So can anyone recommend a good place to buy a bed that will deliver it quickly?

Thanks-

Nancy from VT, one more cold winter to go.

There are numerous furniture stores in the area. You might try going on line to see what is available.
Some of the locals are:
Southern Life Styles
Badcocks
Blockers
Rooms are To Go
Whites
Babettes
Kent
Nolls

ad infinitum, and that's just a sampling. Then there are the national chains like Sears, Penny's etc.

Bottom line? You should have no problem finding a bed to your liking.
Just get down here before that first frost!!!

go to usmattress.com, order it online to be delivered when you arrive. I had to coordinate a little with them, but worked fine.

Wal-Mart has Queen air beds for around $75 that are great. We bought our house three years ago and only stay in it for two weeks in the winter and one week in the early fall and usually have visiting relatives and we all sleep on the air beds and everyone likes them.

This coming winter we are staying for three months and will ship down a pod with bedding etc. But for short stays, the air beds are fine.

Southern Lifestyles can set up the bed BEFORE you even close since they're part of The Villages.. however, be forewarned that they carry Serta mattresses, and they're not really very good these days. Make sure that's what you want. (lift one up, it weights about 10 pounds!!!) and buy the optional "sleep insurance" to cover yourself, because they won't.

Good bets are the Jamison Equalizer at White's Furniture just north of TV - they'll deliver and setup right after you close (give 'em a day notice).

Also, the Original Mattress Factory (closest is on highway 50 in Ocoee) has a reputation for a good mattress at a reasonable price (they've a website). They deliver to TV three times a week.

Good luck.

There are some new air beds out there that have the option of raising the head or foot of the bed. The are also higher like a regular bed. That is a good option for short time use and take your time finding a new bed. I have seen them in different catalogs and I am sure you can do a web search.

We went to a place I think in Lady Lake (Hgy. 441) called Beds, Beds, Beds. They had name brand beds that were discounted because they might have a slight imperfection. They were reasonable, especially for a king size bed and they delivered the next day and did the setup. We ended up with a terrific king size bed (mattress and box springs) for about half price. I found Southern Lifestyles to be very expensive.
