Default Compton Chiropractic Information

Does anyone have any experience to share with Compton Chiropractic over at CR101? I'd like to know the good bad and ugly before committing to them.

I am very pleased with the treatment provided by Dr. Brent Compton. He's the son of the owner, Dr. Brett Compton.

I didn't get any relief from the pain caused by sciatica from physical therapy, and then a sports medicine MD.

After looking at my MRI and radiologist report, Dr. Brett said he thought he identified the cause. I felt relief after the first session of electro-stimulation and spinal manipulation. Relief was something the previous providers couldn't accomplish. I did three more over two weeks.

I'm now on a "wait and see" situation. I am doing some yoga-like stretches that he showed me. I will return if I think I need it.

I am reading your post with much interest as I too have sciatica and have had it for 7 months.
Did you have bulging/ruptured discs as I do? I have done the MRI, 6 steroid injections, lots of pain meds (no help) and gone to 2 chiropractors. The first one in Wildwood (Dr. Kuhn) gave me 3 adjustments by only 'twisting' me and it actually made me worse so I never went back. He seemed like a nice man, but was not helping my problem. I went to the second chiro, and he wanted $2800 to put me on a stretching machine for 18-20 treatments (forgot the name of machine). This would have been totally out of pocket to me as my insurance considers it experimental. Needless to say, I did not go back.
Now I am on Gabapentin med, and it is barely helping and has many side affects.. I truly do not want to do surgery unless I have tried every other option. I hope you don't mind telling me if your insurance covered your treatments with this Dr. thanks so much. If you would rather personal message me, that is fine too. Rose

I'm on original Medicare plus a supplement. Medicare covers the spinal manipulation. It does not cover the initial evaluation ($150, he spent an hour with me) or the electro-stimulation ($17 ea). When I first called to ask about possible treatment, the staff member was very clear with me about my costs based on my insurance.

Slightly off subject -- Medicare doesn't cover electro-stim administered at a chiropractor's office, but it does cover it when administered at a doctor's office. Go figure!

Thank you for your reply. What is electro-stimulation and how many treatments did you have to have of it?
I truly hope your 'wait and see situation' turns out in your favor.

I too am a patient of Dr. Brent Compton (son of the owner). I have been very pleased with my visits with him. Very young Dr., but very good.
