Default Town Squares And Weather

I've never been here during inclement weather, so I don't know the answer. We had planned to go to Brownwood this evening, but a large thunderstorm overtook the area and rained for some time, while we were eating at Square 1 Burger. We came home instead of going on to Brownwood because I was sure people were under cover down there and certainly not dancing the night away! Can someone please tell me the procedure for what happens at the squares during rain/thunder?

Thanks!

If it's just rain, the band will continue playing. If there is lightening, the band will stop playing to wait until the storm passes. If it gets too late, The Villages will call it a night and all activities stop.

Whether people hang around and wait is up to them. So do, some don't. We've waited out thunderstorms before, and have listened to bands in the rain.

I don't know the official policy but HERE is a link.

Click on the temperature at top right to view live webcams.

You can view the individual town squares in real time. Looks pretty quiet at all three.

Also, if the temps drop below 48 degrees, The Villages usually call it a night. Cancellation is totally up to them.

Also, in the cold weather months, if the temperature drops to 47 degrees or lower, the entertainment will be cancelled.

Anytime it's windy with rain, and group has instruments, they cancel. Can't blame them!!
