We have sold our home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and will be arriving in The Villages with our three cats and all our earthly belongings in our small suv.
We will be there about June 10. I wish to sincerely thank the people on this forum who have extended themselves both publicly and privately in terms of helping us, answering questions, supporting us for the two years it took us to sell, and just being all around nice people. I am kinda an outspoken person so I don't expect everyone to agree with me but hey, that is what makes life interesting, no?
Myself and my husband are avid tennis players so please let us know where we can play. I belonged to two wonderful book clubs in mexico, am a voracious and eclectic reader and hope someone can direct me to a good book club in The Villages. We are also interested in natural health, cooking,philosophy, simple living and real estate investing.
We are very excited to be on a new adventure after being expats for ten years!
We will be renting for about three months while we look to buy. I am sure it will be culture shock for us after coming from an all cash society with almost no property taxes (140 US dollars per year on a 400,000US house ), no homeowners insurance, water and sewer 4 dollars a month, electric 20 US per month, maid 3 dollars an hour, gardener 5 dollars an hour.
However, there comes a time when you want to return to your own country, so, here we come!!!
Thanks so much to all and I have dig up St Joseph and he will be moving with is for the twelfth time. Life os so good and so exciting!
