This will be our first trip to Orlando airport. Can someone tell me which terminal Southwest Airlines flies out from? I've heard it can be confusing. Thanks!

Terminal "A". Go to orlandoairports.net for the airport information. As you drive in there will be large signs in red and blue designating the A & B terminals and the airlines that use them. Not really confusing, just pay attention to the signs as you enter.

Terminal A

Well the confusing part is that both terminals are in the same building and the terminals are not where the departures leave from. The terminals seem to refer to the ticketing and baggage areas. A terminal is on the North side of the building and B terminal is on the South side. Most A terminal gates are on the west side of the building (gates 1-59) But some A terminal ticketing for airlines (i.e. Southwest) are on the east side and vice versa. So if you are leaving Orlando on Southwest , terminal A is your terminal but terminal B also works.
Confusing circumstance could be if you are picking up an arriving Southwest passenger with no bags. That person would arrive on the east side and perhaps think that his ride is arriving at the east departure area which would be departure terminal B , when the party picking up the arrival would be directed to terminal A.

Now for the person who said not confusing, let's say you have someone coming in on American Airlines with no bags, to which terminal do you drive to pick up the arriving passenger. If you call the person who arrived and ask him which terminal is he at, will he know?

Sorry for what seems like doubletalk, but look at the layout. It truly can be confusing depending upon the circumstance.

Dropping someone off at Southwest is easy so don't sweat the trip. Follow the signs and you'll have no problem.

The o.p. just asked what terminal Southwest leaves out of.... why make it so confusing?

Because he said it was confusing and it could be on pickup. That is why I included the map. I tried to show why it could be. Sorry I tried to explain.
